纽约的地铁北订单电动乘用车

Tokyo, July 25, 2006 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. today announced that U.S. subsidiary Kawasaki Rail Car, Inc. (KRC) has confirmed the intention of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Metro-North Railroad (MNR) to place an order for 210 AC/DC electric passenger cars a base contract worth approximately $500 million. The cars will be the first multicurrent electric models to go into service on the MNR. A prototype car will be delivered in May 2009 and production cars will be delivered by 2011.
